Obituary

Scott Emory passed away peacefully on September 4th, 2024, surrounded by his family, leaving behind a lot of laughter and countless cherished memories. Scott was married to his wife, Crystal, for 37 wonderful years. Together, they built a life filled with love, a shared appreciation for the outdoors, and plenty of humor.  Scott loved the holidays, especially Christmas. He would go all out decorating the house, playing Christmas music, and watching his favorite holiday movies like A Christmas Story and National Lampoon's Christmas Vacation while wearing a silly Santa hat while saying "ho, ho, ho!" He was happiest living in the country, away from the noise, and he loved to travel. Not around the world, or even across the US, but he sure loved traveling to his cabin in Robbinsville,  where he could enjoy relaxing in the quiet of the woods and spending time with cherished friends. Known for his sense of humor and infectious laughter, Scott was unapologetically himself, always speaking his mind. He had no filter and you never knew what he was going to say next. While he didn't always wear his heart on his sleeve, (his love language might have been sarcasm), Scott loved his family deeply. In his final weeks, he was happy to be surrounded by those he cared about most. We will always treasure the simple moments, like Sunday breakfasts of scrambled eggs, bacon, and buttered bagels. His breakfasts were the best.  A hardworking man, Scott poured his passion into his remodeling business, taking great pride in every project. Even in his final weeks, he kept his sharp wit, joking with the nurses and staying true to his spirited personality. Scott will be remembered for his humor, his love for his family, devotion to friends and his unique outlook on life. He will be deeply missed by everyone who had the privilege to know him.

Scott is survived by his wife, Crystal Emory, three children, Phillip Emory (Lindsay), April Toro (Alejandro) and Cassandra Ceron, and his grandchildren whom he treasured: Madison Ceron, Evan Ceron, Christian Toro, Natalie Toro and Harrison Emory. He was preceded in death by his parents, Doris and Louie Hubert Emory.  He leaves behind his siblings, Pam Thompson (Jimmy), Larry Barnett (Yoshi), Bonnie Emory and countless friends.

A celebration of life will be held for Scott at his favorite place, Emory Lodge, in Robbinsville, North Carolina on Saturday, September 14th at 1pm.  Friends and family alike are welcome.
