Our beloved mother, Sue Ellen Mark, age 76, of Tampa, FL died on August 16, 2026, in Woodstock, GA after a battle with several chronic illnesses. Born on March 19, 1950, she dedicated her life to her family and was a longtime caregiver for her husband, Kenneth M. Mark, Sr., who passed away earlier this year.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Ken, her parents, Frank and Inez Pitts, and her siblings: George, June, and Jane.
She is survived by her children: Kenneth Mark, Jr. (Wendy), Michael Mark (Lisa), Andrew Mark (Michelle), and Vicki McFadden (Daniel).
Sue met her husband on a blind date, eloped in North Myrtle Beach, SC, and spent 55 years with him until his passing. Sue was a wonderful wife, mom, and homemaker. She worked hard to raise her four kids to be wonderful, independent, and self-sufficient to handle all of life's challenges.
She was a proud grandmother of Sarah, Juliana, Jacob, Colin, Avery, Anna, Raegan, Reece, Tegan, and Brendan. Her presence will be deeply missed.
Throughout the years, she enjoyed many of life's simple pleasures. She loved bowling, bingo, trips to the casino, crafts, crocheting, and reading Harlequin romance novels. She also loved going to the Florida State Fair, a tradition that brought her many happy memories over the years.
One of the greatest examples of her love and devotion was the care she gave to her late husband throughout his long illness. She remained by his side, caring for him with dedication and love. It was a reflection of who she was—a woman who cared deeply for the people she loved.
Her life was filled with family, traditions, laughter, and many years of wonderful memories. She will be remembered not only for the things she enjoyed, but for her strength, devotion, and tremendous love for her family.
She loved spending time with those closest to her and especially treasured the many years of family gatherings at Thanksgiving. Being together, sharing a meal, laughing, and making memories were some of the moments she cherished most.
She will be deeply missed, but the love she gave and the memories she created will remain with her family forever.
A small service will be held at the Florida National Cemetery in Bushnell, Florida on September 4, 2026, at 11:30 AM, where she will be laid to rest with her husband.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made in her name to Best Friends Animal Society. Donations can be made online at https://bestfriends.org/donate/remembering-an-animal-lover
