Susan Krause Fussell of Roswell, GA passed away Saturday, April 25, 2026, just shy of her 83rd birthday.

Susan was born May 17, 1943, in Lebanon, PA to James and Lorna (Calder) Krause. She was the third of eight and was nicknamed "Shortie" by her dad. Summers were spent with her sprawling family in Bethany Beach, DE where her love of the beach was sparked.

Sue attended Wesley College in Dover, DE where she met and married the true love of her life, A. Eric Fussell. They raised their three children in the Atlanta area and spent summers in Cape May, NJ. Following her retirement in 2001 from the corporate division of Home Depot, Sue and Eric retired to Tybee Island, GA. There she found peace walking the beach searching for shells or working in her garden, a real masterpiece!

It's impossible to capture in words the essence of Sue. She was highly intelligent, a voracious reader, quick witted with a brilliant smile, and always ready for a good time! Her father described her as "one tough cookie" and that she was, handling the trials and tribulations of life with grace, grit, determination and usually a glass of wine in hand.

Susan was preceded in death by her parents, husband Eric, sister Lorna (Jo), brother Jim and grandson Zachary. She is survived by her loving children Debbie Fussell, Amy Harris, Rick Fussell (Karin), grandchildren Jennifer Harris, Michael Noah McLaughlin, Ryan Fussell and Benjamin Fussell, and great-grandchildren Ethan, Lincoln and Vivienne.

We loved her with all of our collective hearts and will miss her dearly.

Per her wish, her body was donated to Emory University School of Medicine.
