Thaddeus J. Golembieski, Jr., professionally also known as Ted J. Macy, passed away on July 7, 2025, at the age of 80. Born on June 3, 1945, in Chicago, Illinois, Ted eventually made Woodstock, Georgia, his beloved home, where he embraced the serenity of country living and developed a deep love for gardening and landscaping.
Ted proudly served his country in the U.S. Navy and Navy Reserve for six years, including as a Communications Officer in the White House under President Johnson — a role he carried out with great honor and dedication.
After obtaining his bachelor's degree in Computer Science in 1982 from Roosevelt University, Ted embarked on a distinguished career as a computer programmer, working on large-scale computer systems in the finance and mortgage industries. Never one to limit himself, he later became a successful real estate broker and a valued member of one of the top real estate teams in the Atlanta metro area.
Ted's true passion, however, was people. An avid listener and gifted storyteller, he had a remarkable ability to remember not only everyone's name but also the names of their children and spouses — a testament to his genuine care and interest in those around him.
Dedicated to lifelong learning and growth, Ted graduated from Mastery University and Landmark Education, continually deepening his communication and counseling skills. His love for empowering others led him to become a trainer for 30+ years for the Tony Robbins Research Organization, traveling throughout Asia and Europe to help countless individuals uncover meaning, discover self-worth, and commit to lifelong improvement.
Above all, Ted cherished his family. He was a steadfast listener and mentor to his children and stepchildren, always encouraging them to see the good in every situation and supporting them in finding their own paths forward.
Ted is survived by his loving wife, Mary; his daughter, Debi Golembieski; his son Joseph Golembieski; his stepdaughter, Toni Santos; and his stepson, Jerry Macy. He also leaves behind four cherished grandchildren Jessica, Anabella, Paxton and Sylvia and one great-granddaughter Jordyn, all of whom will carry forward his legacy of love, curiosity, and unwavering support.
Ted's vibrant spirit, deep compassion, and devotion to others will be forever missed and fondly remembered by all who had the honor of knowing him.
It was Ted's wish that any memorial tributes be made in the form of charitable donations in his name to https://www.unitedmilitarycare.org/ to honor those who serve in protecting our freedoms.
