Thomas J. Staebell Sr., aka Spike, was born on December 29, 1937, in Le Mars, Iowa. He is preceded in death by his wife, Barbara Ann Staebell. Left to cherish his memory are his children, Thomas J. Staebell Jr. and Ann Staebell Bertsche; his daughter-in-law Jennifer Carson Staebell and son-in-law Jim Bertsche; Grandchildren Aerial Staebell, Hannah Carson and Jared Carson.
Tom was in the Navy for 4 years and that is when he met the love of his life, Barbara. He retired from the U.S. Postal Service in 1993 after 35 years of service and enjoyed retirement to the fullest. He rode motorcycles, took up automobile restoration at a local technical college and did numerous projects around his home and his kids' homes. He also traveled with Barbara and loved spending time with his family. And for those of you who knew him well, he loved his morning donuts and the Saturday lunch dates drinking a cold Budweiser with his kids and grandkids.
Tom will join his 5 brothers and 3 sisters in heaven. A private visitation & service will be held with interment at Georgia National Cemetery.
