Vadie Pauline passed away peacefully at home after an illness on October 30, 2025. She was 94 years old.
Vadie was born in Perry, Georgia to Felix & Ida Riddle on January 5, 1931. Coming from a small town and humble beginnings, she spent years raising children first as a military wife and then as a single mom. She had a 20 year career at IBM working on the first computers, and then traveled the world and spent time with her family in her retirement.
The matriarch of her family, she was an incredible cook and hosted family for holidays and Sunday dinners until she was nearly ninety. She loved playing cards with her family, beating them in any game they played. She was a crossword enthusiast, avid reader and lover of classical music. Her green thumb was unmatched as she cultivated beautiful gardens each year. The light of her life was her family and she showed them love and care in all that she did.
Vadie's Catholic faith was important to her and she cherished her time at Transfiguration Catholic church, contributing that community to being the catalyst that rekindled her faith, bringing her immense joy for over 30 years. She loved the friendships made at church and enjoyed worshiping each week with her community.
She is survived by her children, Peter Pauline and his wife Tiana, Gina Walters and her husband Mark, daughter in law Sheila Pauline, sisters Sandy Valier and Linda Riddle, brother Jack Riddle, eight grandchildren and eight great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her son John Pauline and sisters Geneva Rainey, Betty Libert & Sarah Walters.
