Born in Oregon City, Oregon on February 26th 1942, to Wayne W. Edgecomb and Gwendolyn A. Edgecomb
Graduated from Forest Grove High School in 1960, received a Bachelors of Political Science from Seattle Pacific University in 1964, attended University of Oregon and received a Masters in Education from Pacific University In 1972.
Wayne taught High School classes in San Diego, California, Lake Oswego, Oregon and Renton, Washington school districts. That was followed by a long and successful career as a professor at Mercer University in Atlanta, Georgia.
Wayne was an avid collector of books, records, and antiques. He liked nothing more than finding that one overlooked item at an auction or in the back of a shop.
Wayne had a full life, he loved social occasions: wine tasting, art exhibits and part, He passed away peacefully in the morning hours of January 8th 2023.
He is survived by his partner of 20 years Tom Jackson, his son John, his wife Natalie; his daughter Megan, her husband Joel; his former spouse Mary L. Beall.
His memorial service will be performed Saturday, January 14, 2023 at 3:00 pm in Atlanta, Georgia St. Bartholomew's Episcopal Church.
